James Manyika

James is senior partner and chairman emeritus of MGI as of January 2022, following a more than 25-year career at McKinsey. He is currently Senior Vice President of Technology and Society at Google, reporting directly to the CEO of Alphabet. He previously served as vice-chair of the United States Global Development Council at the White House and on the US National Innovation Advisory Board, among other government and business commissions and initiatives. As a board-member, trustee, or advisor, he continues to be involved with numerous think tanks, academic institutions, and non-profit and philanthropic foundations.

Diana Farrell

Led MGI from 2002–2008 and was a director of the McKinsey Center for Government based in Washington, D.C. Served as deputy director of the US National Economic Council and deputy assistant to the president for economic policy under President Obama. Most recently, she was the founding President and Chief Executive Officer of the JPMorgan Chase Institute. Currently is an independent director and trustee of various organizations, including eBay, Urban Institute, the National Bureau of Economic Research, and the National Academies of Sciences’ Committee on National Statistics.

Ted Hall

Former director of McKinsey, led knowledge building efforts and had a 27-year career at the firm. He co-founded MGI and later served as its chairman.

Eric Labaye

Former chairman of MGI and leader of the firm's knowledge-building efforts. Previously served as a McKinsey senior partner and office manager for France, based in Paris. He is currently President of École Polytechnique.

William Lewis

Was a partner of McKinsey for 20 years and co-founding director of MGI from its founding in 1990 until his retirement from McKinsey in 2001.

Susan Lund

A former partner at MGI, Susan had a 25-year career at McKinsey. She is currently Vice President, Economics and Private Sector Development at the International Finance Corporation in Washington, DC.

Lenny Mendonca

Former chairman of MGI and firm's knowledge building efforts. Previously served as a McKinsey director and a public sector practice leader based in San Francisco and Washington, D.C. He previously served as the State of California's Chief Economic and Business Advisor and Director of the Office of Business and Economic Development, and Co-chair of California Forward.

Charles Roxburgh

Former London-based director of MGI and McKinsey senior partner, he also served as Director General of Financial Services at HM Treasury. He is now Second Permanent Secretary to the Treasury.
