We manage risks related to working with external partners and support the firm’s sustainability goals. The team sets clear processes to identify and manage risks throughout the lifecycle of working with suppliers, while also leading efforts like reducing emissions and reaching net-zero targets. By promoting responsible practices and strong oversight, we help the firm meet regulations and uphold its commitment to being a responsible global actor.

Third Party Risk Strategy professionals define and drive the risk strategy for all non-client third parties, establishing the framework to identify, assess, and manage risks at the time of onboarding and throughout the lifecycle. The team provides program oversight, partners with risk SMEs across the firm, and ensures coverage across various risk domains such as regulatory, cyber, reputational, and operational etc., with consistent lifecycle controls aligned to the firm’s risk appetite and regulatory expectations.

Third Party ESG, Governance & Awareness professionals define and drive the governance and awareness strategy for all third parties, establishing frameworks to proactively identify, monitor, and manage sustainability, compliance, and operational risks across the lifecycle. We provide oversight, guidance and partners with stakeholders to embed responsible procurement and ESG principles into decision-making. We ensures continuous control improvement, consistent reporting, and alignment with regulatory expectations and the firm’s long-term Third Party management objectives.

Environmental Sustainability professionals orchestrate McKinsey’s own net zero by 2050 journey. We measure and disclose the firm’s total emissions annually, monitors the latest trends and guidance frameworks on emissions measurement and reduction, works with a variety of internal and external stakeholders on reducing emissions through colleague and supplier engagement, collects an internal carbon fee on all emissions and shapes the strategy for our carbon credit and sustainable aviation fuel procurement.
