Asutosh is the managing partner for McKinsey in North America, leading the firm across the United States, Canada, and Mexico and serving as part of McKinsey’s 15-person global leadership team. He is also a member of McKinsey’s Shareholders Council, the firm’s equivalent to the board of directors.

Since joining the firm, Asutosh has helped high-performing, iconic industrial companies with their functional, business unit, and enterprise transformations, drawing on his strategic, organizational, and operations expertise. Prior to taking on the role of managing partner for McKinsey in North America, he co-led our global Advanced Industries work.

Asutosh is an experienced adviser on performance transformations that involve revenue acceleration, technology and innovation, margin and cash flow improvement, and large-scale operating model redesign.

Examples of his recent projects include the following:

  • helping a global industrial company drive step-change performance improvement across its corporate strategy and in three of its business units, as well as helping to develop a long-term technology and innovation strategy
  • helping a global multinational corporation drive a radical performance improvement including footprint changes, growth efforts, manufacturing, supply chain and procurement transformations, and dramatic simplification of IT systems
  • helping a global automotive supplier with step-change improvement in margin, growth, and cash flows; this required a comprehensive redesign of every aspect of its business

Asutosh regularly convenes CEOs and board members on driving sustainable value creation. He also founded and designed the McKinsey Center for Future Mobility, which helps business leaders and policy makers lead change and prepare for a more autonomous, interconnected future. Asutosh also serves on the Field Museum’s Board of Trustees, one of the top natural history and science museums in the world.
