Michele is member of the global leadership team of McKinsey’s global Life Sciences Practice. His deep industry knowledge and previous career in biotechnology research and commercialization is valued by his clients.

Michele helps innovative bio-pharma and medical technology companies develop and commercialize new products. He has over 10 years of experience advising clients on strategy, product development, marketing and sales to maximize the value of their products.

Examples of Michele’s previous work include the following:

  • helping a leading global biopharma company build its presence across Asia, launch its own products, acquire additional assets to rapidly grow its revenue, establish local partnerships, and develop new flexible commercial models in China and Japan
  • supporting two iconic Japanese companies in entering the medical field by deploying their technologies and capabilities to specific market segments, developing or acquiring innovative new products, establishing cross-industry partnerships—such as hardware-software, and advanced analytics—and rapidly go-to-market
  • supporting the conception and execution of a global alliance between a device and a software company and leading two global post-merger integrations in Asia

Michele has conducted scientific research and has published eight peer reviewed papers in the field of biotechnology and computational biology. Before joining McKinsey, he also worked in technology transfer and was involved in the commercialization of new technologies and intellectual property in the field of nano-technology and bio-technology applied to healthcare.

Born and raised in Italy, Michele has spent his professional career living in the United States for six years and in Belgium for another six years, and has now been part of McKinsey Japan since 2013.
