Client Impact Examples
Accelerating a major mining port expansion project
We developed a generative scheduling model for a major port-expansion project to accelerate project completion and test a range of scenarios to identify risks and opportunities. Within the project, we trained 12 planners and team members to maintain and expand the generative scheduling model, helping the team to continue to run “what-if” scenarios as the project progressed. We delivered over 15 percent schedule acceleration which led to a $20 million reduction in labor costs through improved utilization and $80 million in accelerated revenue through earlier completion.
Optimizing the tool install schedule for a large-scale cell-manufacturing facility
Over three months behind schedule on their large-scale cell-manufacturing facility, a major electronics-manufacturing company was exploring ways to get its project back on track. With only a high-level schedule available, we built a granular mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) generative scheduling model to inform an optimized L3 construction schedule. The built-in 4D functionality allowed for effective quality-review workshops with the project team to de-risk and optimize the base schedule. We generated an optimized schedule for the installation of over 1,000 pieces of equipment, delivering six weeks of schedule acceleration and over $50 million in impact through cost savings and revenue acceleration.
Recovering a 13-month schedule delay for a major elevated rail project
A leading engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) player building an elevated guideway for a public transit operator was over a year behind schedule and confronted with $80 million in identified risks. We integrated its 3D building information modeling (BIM) model and bill of quantities to develop a fully resource-loaded 4D schedule. Using an advanced analytics engine, we were able to explore over 100 “what-if” scenarios to examine the impact of different mitigation options. By implementing the highest-value scenarios, we recovered the 13-month delay and significantly de-risked the execution plan to prevent future delays.
