Helps regulated infrastructure organizations create value within complex regulatory environments

Emma leads McKinsey’s Electric Power & Natural Gas Practice in the United Kingdom and coleads the firm’s work on carbon removals. She specializes in transforming the performance of regulated infrastructure organizations at the intersection of operators, regulators, and government—across the energy, water, defense, and public sectors. She previously led the UK, Ireland, and Israel Strategy & Corporate Finance Practice.

Emma helps leadership teams deliver ambitious outcomes within complex regulatory frameworks. Her recent work includes:

  • identifying significant cost and growth opportunities for a leading energy company
  • delivering substantial savings across defense support contracts managing nationwide fleets
  • partnering with a state-owned utility to double investment in service delivery while reaching net zero
  • building a major new carbon-removal business from concept to market, including go-to-market strategy and full organizational scale-up

Outside of McKinsey, Emma is chair of Tommy’s, the UK’s leading research charity focused on making pregnancy safer for all. She previously served as a trustee of Sands, the UK’s leading baby loss charity. Emma first joined McKinsey as a business analyst in London after beginning her career at ICI. Before returning to McKinsey, Emma worked on international development strategies with governments, UN agencies, and non-governmental organizations, including creating a panel of influential advocates.
