Vivek is a partner in McKinsey’s Boston office and a core leader in the firm’s Life Sciences Practice. He leads McKinsey’s manufacturing, supply chain, and digital operations work with life sciences firms in North America, guiding a network of more than 50 leaders and experts worldwide. His client service focuses on enabling biopharma, medtech, generics, biotech, and contract development & manufacturing organizations navigate disruptions, accelerate innovation and increase shareholder value through Operations.
A trusted counselor to CxOs and executive leadership teams, Vivek has led more than 50 large scale transformation and strategic engagements globally. His work is at the intersection of Operations and Technology, and spans operations strategy, enterprise wide turnarounds, digital and AI enabled operations transformations, network strategy redesign, productivity improvement, capital excellence, network strategy, and quality and culture transformations. He is known for his global collaboration network, deep operational expertise, and entrepreneurial leadership, which have helped scale multiple practices and client programs. Vivek also leads McKinsey’s work with emerging biotechs in the Greater Boston area, including knowledge partnerships, industry associations, and academic partners.
Outside the firm, he serves as one of the youngest board members of the American India Foundation’s New England chapter, supporting philanthropic efforts focused on improving the lives of underprivileged communities in India. Vivek was recognized by the Boston Business Journal as one of Boston’s “40 Under 40” leaders for his achievements and contributions to the Greater Boston community.
Before joining McKinsey, Vivek led capital excellence initiatives at ITC Limited—one of India’s largest consumer goods companies. He holds an MBA in marketing and finance from the Indian School of Business, Hyderabad, and a BTech in electrical engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology Kanpur.
