Lorenzo is a senior partner in McKinsey’s Milan office and global and European leader of the Electric Power & Natural Gas Practice. Lorenzo advises private and public organizations on strategic, organizational, and operational matters with a particular focus on large-scale transformations in the context of the global energy transition. He counsels clients across the full energy value chain, from equipment manufacturers and investors to developers and operators.
His recent client work includes:
- defining energy transition strategies, including the evolution of operating models, for major global energy companies
- reviewing and redesigning risk management frameworks to address increasing market volatility and energy price uncertainty
- building operational excellence programs enabled by digital technologies and advanced analytics, spanning procurement, asset management, capex execution, and field operations
- launching new ventures within the energy transition value chain, including flexibility services and renewable energy aggregation businesses
- conducting preacquisition due diligence in renewables and power distribution, followed by post-merger integration and execution of value creation plans
- developing long-term energy demand and supply models for several European, Asian, and North American countries to guide government and private-sector investment
- advising on strategic action areas to accelerate and de-risk Europe’s energy transition trajectory
Lorenzo has been based in McKinsey’s Brussels, Rome, Tokyo, and Milan offices and speaks fluent English, French, Italian, and Spanish.
