About Blair

Blair is a partner in McKinsey’s San Francisco office and a leader in our Organization Practice. She is also a leader in our work supporting clients with cultural change and with organization topics in the electric power and natural gas sector.

Blair’s work focuses on delivering organizational change from strategy to execution, including cultural change, top-team effectiveness, leadership development and capability-building, organization design, performance management, and continuous improvement. She helps companies transition into new roles, align their teams, and put the right talent in the right place.

Examples of Blair’s recent projects include the following:

  • supporting a top pediatric academic medical center in improving its performance and organizational health by setting new aspirations, defining expectations for leaders at all levels, building the capabilities of the top thousand leaders and influencers, and driving change management
  • working with a large post-merger organization in a heavily regulated sector to define cultural priorities, achieve successful integration, stabilize the organization, make the most of talent, and build excitement for the future
  • advising a regulated utility on a comprehensive turnaround that included an organization redesign and a lean operations rollout and delivered savings of $1.3 billion, along with quality and productivity improvements
  • counseling a CEO on the composition of his top team and board based on a review of the technical and leadership capabilities needed for success in the next five years
  • facilitating an expert panel to recommend improvements to organization, governance, and oversight for an infrastructure megaproject in California
  • engaging with multiple organizations to reimagine how to work during the COVID-19 pandemic, including hybrid remote working models and new forms of leadership.

Blair was one of the authors for our joint Women in the Workplace report with LeanIn. This annual study considers where and why there are gaps in female leadership and proposes practical steps to establish an equitable workplace.

Blair previously held a fellowship role in McKinsey’s Public Sector Practice in Washington, DC. She holds an MBA from the Stanford Graduate School of Business, where she was an Arjay Miller scholar, and an undergraduate degree from Yale University.
