Program Overview

Dates for the 2024 editions of NGWL will be announced in early 2024.

The Next Generation Women Leaders (NGWL) Asia–Pacific program kicks off with a two-day virtual event on July 6-7, 2023 where attendees will explore the importance of women in leadership, develop a sense of connection, and create a long-lasting community. The program will continue with the interview-preparation program—our case and personal-experience interviews—Q&A sessions, and networking events with the local office. These extended workshops and informative virtual sessions will begin in August.

Our NGWL events are intended for individuals who self-identify as women. They are just a few of our many worldwide programs aimed at helping candidates get to know McKinsey better.

Agenda

Next Generation Women Leaders Asia–Pacific will begin on Thursday, July 6th with welcome words, an opportunity to ask questions, and ample time to get to know one another in an informal setting. Across the next two days, attendees will participate in interactive workshops, hear from inspirational speakers, and work with facilitators to further shape their leadership style. This will help them become trailblazers in their personal and professional lives. During the program, attendees will have an opportunity not only to learn more about McKinsey and leadership skills, but also focus on personal development—in particular, confidence and effective communication skills.

How to apply

Eligibility

To be considered for NGWL Asia–Pacific, you must be currently based in or have very strong ties with the region. You must also be:

A bachelor’s, master’s, PhD, or MBA student graduating no later than 2024

or
A professional with up to eight years of work experience

To apply, please submit the following by June 6th, 2023:

Resume: in English. This should include details of your education and grades, work experience, extracurricular activities, and achievements.

Cover letter: (optional), maximum of 250 words, where you can tell us about your motivation to join the event, any leadership experience, or simply add anything to support your application beyond the information included in your CV, e.g., your personal achievements or circumstances to select a specific office.
Digital assessment: as part of your application, you will be asked to complete an online assessment that will last about 60 minutes. This does not require any preparation or prior business knowledge. More details will be shared within a few weeks after submitting your application.
Your office/business function or practice preference: our participating offices are listed below. When you apply, you will choose up to three office locations or industry practices to review your application. We advise you to make your choices based on geographic or industry ties (e.g., you have studied or lived in the country or you have work experience in the industry). You should be fluent in the local language.
