McKinsey is proud to serve as a knowledge partner for the Mekong Business Challenge.
The Mekong Business Challenge is an annual entrepreneurship competition for university students from the Mekong region, which includes Bhutan, Cambodia, Laos, Thailand, Vietnam, and the Yunnan Province in China.
Founded in 2006, the competition is an entrepreneurial, grassroots initiative supported by McKinsey colleagues, committed mentors, external partners, and corporate sponsors—all of whom invest their time, resources, and passion for innovation.
The Challenge is a platform for nurturing talent and launching business and social ventures that can profoundly impact communities in the Mekong region. Past submissions have included education apps and innovative solutions to medical conditions such as Parkinson’s disease. Winners go on to compete in the International Business Model Competition, the largest lean startup event in the world.
