McKinsey is a place for you to learn and grow. I get to work with diverse, talented people and lead clients across industries to solve the toughest business challenges.

Choosing McKinsey

I joined McKinsey at an early stage in my career and got the chance to work with smart, talented people from different backgrounds to solve critical challenges for clients. The firm provided an unrivaled environment for me to learn and grow by giving me exposure and access to experts around the world.

Rewarding, Meaningful Experiences

It is always rewarding to see client impact resulting from our work—for example, a high-tech client followed my suggestion to relocate its logistics center to reduce costs by 20 percent and improve serviceability, and an eyecare client aimed to deliver mid-to-double digit growth through the strategy we outlined. However, developing lasting relationships with clients has been the most rewarding for me. Many of my clients have become my friends; we often check in with one another long after a project has ended. It makes me feel proud that we created a positive experience and formed lifelong friendships.

Discovering New Interests

Working at McKinsey, I get to serve clients in different cities across China and—prior to COVID-19—across different countries. I developed a hobby of capturing snapshots of my different experiences, and have picked up photography. Taking pictures gives me a different angle to see the world and capture memorable moments.

A Truly Global Firm

At the firm, I have worked on projects across the globe. I helped a European company on its operational diagnosis and enhancement. A few years ago, I was assigned to a project in the United States serving a high-tech company on its service operations transformation. The teams are always made up of experts from around the world so we can leverage a global network to bring the best solutions to our clients.

Work-Life Balance

McKinsey respects every individual’s working preferences. During the workday, I am quite focused, but I always leverage weekends for things that are important to me like time with family and friends and exploring new places. I take advantage of business and training trips to explore new cities and cultures. I love having the explicit support to allocate time to live a full life.
