About Kaushik

Kaushik is the managing partner of McKinsey’s offices in Southeast Asia. Passionate about the future of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN), he serves clients in Brunei, Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore, and Thailand on issues related to growth, competitiveness, and productivity. A senior partner at the firm, he has experience working across industries—including energy, basic materials, logistics, consumer products, and the public sector—and in numerous markets throughout Asia and Europe.

Much of Kaushik’s work focuses on the energy, resources, and industrials sectors in Southeast Asia. He has worked extensively with mining and oil and gas companies, as well as a variety of state-owned enterprises and governments, on issues related to strategy, operations, digital, marketing, and sales.

Kaushik has deep expertise in ASEAN markets, having served governments, government-linked agencies, and some of Southeast Asia’s largest companies. He led the Jakarta office for five years and drove research on the country’s energy market and the development of its digital economy. A homegrown leader, Kaushik is deeply committed to youth development in the region. He supports Young Leaders for Indonesia—a program to develop the next generation of leaders in the country—among other social initiatives. Prior to his tenure in Southeast Asia, Kaushik was based in our London office, where he served companies in the United Kingdom, Germany, and Italy. He worked primarily on issues related to energy, materials, and consumer goods, with a particular focus on marketing and sales.
