Tamim is a thought leader in the field of data analytics and an expert in using data modeling in strategic transformations across industries, including energy, technology, banking, and finance. As the head of our Analytics Practice in Europe, he works to enrich our capacity to employ sophisticated analytics when helping executives make informed business decisions and put in place practices that lead to stronger ongoing performance.
Before joining McKinsey in 2016, Tamim worked for the Boston Consulting Group, where he led its Big Data and Analytics Practice globally. Before that, he drove technology-implementation programs for IBM Global Business Services as the head of its Strategy and Change Practice, serving financial-services firms in Belgium, Ireland, Luxembourg, the Middle East, the Netherlands, South Africa, and the United Kingdom.
Across two decades of distinguished consulting work, Tamim has guided countless projects and initiatives, working side by side with company leaders. He has partnered with large clients to build fundamentally new businesses, including Internet banks and connected-home propositions. He has helped clients to mature their analytics practices from inception to full implementation. And he has managed highly technical projects, including company-wide analytics-enabled transformations that encompass areas such as sales and marketing, the supply chain, production, and shared services. Along the way, he has amassed deep expertise in data-enabled transformation, big data strategy, data operating models, data governance, technology architecture, M&A, and postmerger management.
Strongly interested in new sources of innovation, Tamim tracks emerging developments at the intersection of advanced analytics and artificial intelligence, machine learning, robotics, and cloud computing. Throughout his career, he has been a prolific author and speaker, and his published work on cloud computing and data analytics has been cited in numerous articles and white papers.
