Spandan is a partner in our Houston office and specializes in global energy and materials, focusing on upstream oil and gas and oilfield services and equipment as well as private-equity clients.

His recent client projects include the following:

  • assisting the holistic strategy design, including a focus on energy transition, for a global integrated oil and gas company
  • developing the energy transition strategy for a global oilfield services and equipment group, including evaluation of expansion into adjacencies and “new energy” value pools
  • designing the decarbonization-related investment themes and target identification for a global private-equity company, both equity and credit investors
  • optimizing portfolio companies and assisting in sale or IPO exits
  • guiding the new business build in the “new energy” value chain, including new product development and commercial strategy, for both oil and gas operators and oilfield services and equipment manufacturers
  • leading large-scale transformations for oil and gas operators and oilfield service equipment manufacturers

While at McKinsey, he has worked extensively in numerous countries and has over 15 years of international experience in the energy space in diverse roles in operational, technical, sales and financial analysis domains in the United States, the United Kingdom, Italy, Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, Bahrain, Hong Kong, Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia, Kazakhstan, and India.

In addition to his work with the firm, Spandan is also a chartered financial analyst (CFA).
