Martin Bohmert advises industrial leaders—particularly in the energy and aerospace sectors—on energy-transition transformations and growth strategies. He co-leads McKinsey’s Sustainability practice in France.

Martin is a Partner in McKinsey’s Paris office and co-leads the firm’s Sustainability work in France. He is also a leader within the Industry and Private Capital practices. He supports energy and aerospace clients in shaping and delivering decarbonization and energy-transition programs, as well as building new growth engines and portfolios aligned with the net-zero economy. He also works with private equity investors and ClimateTech companies to accelerate the scaling and deployment of energy-transition technologies.

Martin’s expertise spans energy-transition technologies—including sustainable aviation fuels, renewable and low-carbon power, hydrogen, batteries, and carbon markets (offsetting, carbon capture, and removals)—as well as  growth strategy. He regularly publishes on these topics and leads McKinsey’s global service line on geological (natural) hydrogen.

In France, Martin co-leads the Green Business Building event series, convening start-ups, scale-ups, established industrial players, and leaders in green finance to explore practical pathways to green growth. He also initiated McKinsey’s partnership with the 21st by CentraleSupélec accelerator, supporting students, researchers, and entrepreneurs in developing breakthrough innovations and deeptech ventures.

Before joining McKinsey in 2020, Martin held leadership roles at GE Power and Alstom Power.

Martin is a graduate of CentraleSupélec, Sciences Po Paris, and the University of Cambridge.
