Fabian leads McKinsey’s Strategy & Corporate Finance Practice in the United Kingdom and McKinsey’s Engineering, Construction & Building Materials Practice for private capital investors globally.

His client work focuses on strategic transformations of industrial and B2B services businesses facing significant shifts in their external environment, including regulatory, technological, and competitive disruptions. Most recently, he has supported European energy and materials companies in rethinking their strategies and performance amid decarbonization and competitiveness pressures, while also helping investors identify opportunities in a shifting geopolitical, energy, and technology context in Europe.

Recent examples of Fabian’s work include:

  • leading multiple commercial diligences on business services, engineering, and construction technology assets
  • supporting commercial diligence on an energy analytics company with renewable and industrial exposure in Europe
  • supporting the strategy and portfolio reset for a leading building materials firm
  • advising a global energy company on growth strategy in a top-five market, targeting millions in incremental in-country profit
  • leading a billion-dollar cost-reduction program for an integrated steel company
  • developing a power sourcing, generation, and grid strategy for a major transport player with 10+ TWh of annual energy demand
  • creating a decarbonization pathway and growth strategy for a global building materials company

Outside of his client work, Fabian has contributed to McKinsey’s thinking on growth and productivity in the United Kingdom and Europe.
