About Álvaro

Álvaro is the coleader of the firm’s Pharmaceuticals & Medical Products Practice, a part of the Operations Practice, and leader of the Iberian Operations Excellence Program. He has extensive experience with operations projects in a broad range of sectors, including consumer goods and automotive, with a strong focus on pharmaceutical companies.

Examples of Álvaro’s recent client engagements include the following:

  • designing and leading a readiness program for a biopharmaceutical facility to be able to pass a US Food and Drug Administration readiness audit, with a focus on setting up the critical processes for quality-management systems (such as deviations, corrective and preventative actions, change controls, and validation)
  • implementing a global pharmaceutical network’s operations transformation—which included areas such as manufacturing, quality laboratories, maintenance, and engineering—and designing a turnaround plan to address compliance, quality, and supply needs
  • implementing the operations transformation of a global tier-one automotive company across its network

Álvaro is an accredited Six Sigma Green Belt and applies his familiarity with process- and quality-improvement projects to his work.
