She steers the firm’s beauty industry insights, including the flagship State of Beauty report, and brings more than 20 years of experience advising brands, retailers, and investors on unlocking data-driven growth.
Alexis partners directly with retailers and brands to lead commercial transformations, shape consumer-led growth strategies, and deploy cutting-edge personalization programs. She also brings this deep sector expertise to private capital, advising leading private equity firms and institutional investors on M&A strategy, commercial due diligence, and post-acquisition growth.
Before joining McKinsey, Alexis spent more than a decade as an entrepreneur in the beauty and women’s lifestyle space. She founded an award-winning online women’s lifestyle magazine and simultaneously advised large consumer-product companies and early-stage start-ups on brand positioning, product development, and launch strategy. Alexis has also authored two best-selling beauty books and regularly appeared on-air as a beauty expert for major television networks. She holds an MBA from Harvard Business School, where she graduated with distinction and was elected co-president of the Women’s Student Association, and an MA in human rights from Columbia University.
