AI transformation at Mobile World Congress 2026

Mobile World Congress (MWC)—one of the world’s largest and most influential events for the telecommunications and mobile technology industry—will convene March 2–5 in Barcelona, bringing together leaders shaping the next era of connectivity.

McKinsey returns to MWC this year with a series of high-impact roundtables and curated experiences designed to spark breakthrough thinking, with discussions on agentic AI in telecom, organizational rewiring for technology adoption, and the rise of responsible and sovereign AI, among many other topics.

These themes reflect a global shift in how AI transformation is unfolding across regions. In Asia, Tarang Agarwal is eager to see how companies are bringing AI to the customer. In the Middle East, Eefke Post is focused on where value is truly emerging and how organizations are building excitement and the capabilities to capture it. And in North America, Guilherme Cruz sees MWC as the moment when leaders move beyond the hype of technology innovation—sharing what it actually takes to scale AI across domains and generate lasting impact.
