Alex leads our global Chemicals and Agriculture practices. He mostly advises chemicals, agriculture, materials, and industrial companies on growth and strategy, and supports them in executing large-scale transformations to improve performance. Previously, Alex led our global specialty-chemicals work, as well as our industrial-sector work in Switzerland.
Alex is excited about technology, including but not limited to AI, and can often be found at industry events discussing recent developments.
Notable examples of Alex’s recent work include:
- leading cross-functional transformations in the chemicals and materials industry to create substantial and enduring improvements in performance and health
- building long-term business-unit and corporate strategies for leaders in specialty chemicals, agriculture, and materials
- redesigning and implementing new operating models, from organization and processes to people systems and cultural change
- supporting industrial companies as they screen potential M&A targets, conduct due diligence, and facilitate synergy capture during post-merger integrations.
Alex joined McKinsey in 2008. He studied in the Netherlands, Singapore, Switzerland, and the United States.
