With roles spanning ten different functions, a range of disciplines, and various career paths, our internal roles are core to running our firm and present endless opportunities to make your own McKinsey.

Locations

Our presence across continents and time zones enables us to quickly deliver the right teams, with the right experience and expertise. Some internal colleagues work in one of our offices around the world. Others are based in our talent hubs for non-consulting work in India, the United States, Poland and Costa Rica.

Interviewing

Interviews

Your interview experience will differ depending on the role for which you apply. Several include an online assessment, others a group exercise; some candidates interview with partners, and the number of colleagues you meet will vary. Many interviews will be virtual now, but offer the same great experience no matter how far apart you are from your interviewer. Your recruiter will communicate the steps and guide you through the process so you know what to expect.

But regardless of the path or office location you pursue, the process is consistent, fair, and will offer the opportunity for you to demonstrate your skills, learn more about the role, and meet colleagues so you can get to know McKinsey.

So how should you prepare for your interviews? Relax and be yourself. Bring questions for us. Come prepared to share your experiences, knowledge, skills, and accomplishments. We look forward to meeting you.

Experience Day

Executive assistant, global helpdesk, business presentation specialist, and many visual graphics candidates participate in Experience Day, which takes place virtually or at one of our support offices. Experience Day includes three elements: a role simulation to test your skills, a group exercise in which you’ll problem solve with other candidates in a team setting, and interviews with McKinsey colleagues with opportunities to ask all of your questions. The day is designed to offer a realistic view of the role, responsibilities, and necessary skills so both you and your interviewers can feel confident it’s a good fit.
