Survey: Chilean consumer sentiment during the coronavirus crisis

Chilean consumers continue to face the financial impact of COVID-19 and to cut back on spending across categories.

Chilean consumers are feeling the economic effects of the crisis and remain worried about the wellbeing of their families during the crisis. They expect to cut their spending across almost all categories; only food delivery, reading material, and at-home entertainment show positive online spending intent. Consumers are also adopting new digital and low-touch activities, such as online streaming. Most consumers believe the impact of COVID-19 on their routines and finances will last for more than two months.

These exhibits are based on survey data collected in Chile from May 1–4, 2020. Check back for regular updates on Chilean consumer sentiments, behaviors, income, spending, and expectations.
