Taro leads McKinsey’s Technology, Media & Telecommunications Practice in Japan. He supports Japanese companies on growth strategy, enterprise-wide transformation, new-business building, M&A, AI adoption, and partnerships with leading AI companies.
He serves a broad range of clients—from large corporations to growth companies—across telecommunications, media, IT services, technology, and digital platforms. His work goes beyond strategy development to include execution, organizational transformation, and business building. He has deep expertise in growth-led transformation and in creating new revenue opportunities enabled by technology.
Taro frequently supports clients on global expansion, North American and Asian market strategies, and opportunities for partnerships and investments with overseas companies. He is particularly experienced in bringing together consultants from the Japan office with experts and leaders across McKinsey’s global network to deliver integrated support that draws on the firm’s global expertise and capabilities.
In recent years, Taro has supported enterprise-wide transformations for major telecommunications companies, the development of AI infrastructure by technology companies, the advancement of AI partnerships in Japan, and the creation of new companies and new businesses in areas such as AI and renewable energy. He brings an entrepreneurial mindset, a strong focus on execution, the ability to bridge technology and business, and an investor’s perspective to help Japanese companies achieve growth and transformation.
