Sangyun is a partner in McKinsey’s Seoul office and a core leader of the firm’s Financial Services Practice in South Korea. He works with leading banking and insurance clients to help accelerate value growth through new business build, performance turnarounds, digital and analytics-backed innovation, and globalization.

Some of his recent client work includes the following:

  • driving a holistic growth transformation program across product, marketing and sales, operations, and risk management for a payment provider
  • building a digital-hybrid agency model and leading the implementation for an insurer
  • assisting in overseas post-acquisition management and designing new growth business models for a financial group
  • blueprinting a digital and AI-backed business model for a securities company
  • developing a personalization-at-scale strategy for a bank

Prior to McKinsey, he worked as an associate in Oliver Wyman’s financial services practice.

Sangyun is a native speaker of Korean and is fluent in English. In his spare time, he enjoys riding bicycles with his two boys and playing golf and tennis.
