Ryan is a partner in McKinsey’s Advanced Industries Practice, which serves companies across Industrials & Electronics, Semiconductors, Automotive & Assembly, and Aerospace & Defense. He leads client service for mid-cap companies (the “Titanium Economy”) across these sectors globally. The Titanium Economy represents the mid-cap backbone of global industry: highly engineered, innovation-driven companies that design and manufacture the critical components, equipment, and technologies enabling the next generation of industrial innovation.

Examples of his recent client work include:

  • shaping enterprise and portfolio strategies to accelerate profitable growth and expand global market positions
  • driving cross-functional performance transformations across operations, supply chain, and commercial organizations
  • optimizing R&D productivity and product portfolios in technology-intensive companies
  • bringing digital visibility and AI-driven insights to complex global enterprises to improve decision-making and accelerate action
  • advising corporate and private equity investors on growth strategy across the industrial landscape

Prior to joining McKinsey, Ryan built and led the LED business of a mid-cap lighting manufacturer, served as an optical engineer at the U.S. Department of Energy, and helped bring solar power to off-grid communities in South America.
