Nikhil is a Senior Partner in McKinsey’s Houston office and leads our work for oil and gas exploration and production (upstream) operators globally. He helps clients implement full corporate transformations at the asset and company levels, including both strategic and operational elements required to drive competitive performance for conventional and unconventional exploration and production operations. Nikhil also leads McKinsey’s Strategy & Corporate Finance services for oil & gas clients across all industry subsectors (from well to wheel) and is part of the leadership team of our Global O&G Practice.
His recent client projects include:

- improving performance in shale & tight business operations
- benchmarking the performance of unconventional companies
- advising leading energy and chemical companies on corporate strategy
- supporting organizations in executing large-scale performance transformations
- collaborating on a initiatives to decarbonize energy ecosystems
- advising credit and equity investors on investing in the energy transition and decarbonization activities
Before joining McKinsey, Nikhil worked as a rig manager and drilling engineer. He holds an MBA from INSEAD and a bachelor’s degree from the Indian Institute of Technology.
