Helps consumer goods and retail clients to future-proof their operations through optimizing sourcing, procurement, and more efficient supply chains and store operations

Julian is a partner in McKinsey’s Stuttgart office who works with retail and consumer goods clients across the value chain—from the sourcing of raw materials to operations on the shop floor. He helps leadership teams turn ambitious operations and growth agendas into measurable, lasting impact.

He works closely with senior leaders to mobilize cross-functional teams, build in-house capabilities, and embed new ways of working that sustain performance long after a program ends.

Examples of his recent client work include:

  • leading at-scale, multiyear operations transformations at global consumer goods and apparel manufacturers, reducing operational and raw-material costs while building lasting capabilities through dedicated centers of excellence
  • designing and delivering procurement and sourcing excellence programs—revamping processes, structures, and cost-engineering teams—to unlock step-change savings across direct and indirect spend
  • future-proofing manufacturing and supply chains through automation, digitization, and advanced planning, increasingly powered by AI and agentic ways of working
  • driving retail and store-operations excellence, unlocking double-digit time savings through lean and digital levers, and reinvesting freed-up capacity into sales-excellence efforts that lift the top line

Combining deep expertise in sourcing, manufacturing, and end-to-end operations with hands-on transformation experience, Julian helps clients translate bold strategies into tangible outcomes. He is equally committed to developing the next generation of leaders, having mentored and sponsored colleagues across the globe.
