Helps media and other consumer-facing clients unlock growth through large-scale transformation

Since joining McKinsey, Joy has helped executives define and realize growth agendas. She directs large-scale transformation programs for companies in media and other consumer-facing industries, surfacing opportunities to unlock growth and mobilizing organizations to capture these opportunities.

Joy has worked extensively with consumer media and technology companies to improve the core creative engine, build and monetize audiences, and build brand extensions and other innovative new business models. She has also led growth transformations with clients in other consumer-facing industries, including telecommunications, retail, and education.

Examples of her recent client work include the following:

  • advising two leading media companies following a merger to capture revenue synergies and transform production capabilities
  • helping to return a leading telecommunications company to growth and profitability, including overhauling sales organization and processes, creating a new omnichannel marketing strategy, refreshing the retail footprint, and developing an indirect sales approach
  • leading a holistic transformation for a print and digital publisher, including optimizing content creation and setting brand strategy
  • reimagining the sales and go-to-market approach for a multibrand apparel company
  • leading a transformation effort for a leading content programmer by focusing on transforming ad sales and reimagining the programming function
