Jonathan Michael

Senior PartnerSydney

Advises banks, insurers, and asset managers, focusing on strategy, distribution, and regulation

Jonathan joined McKinsey in 2007 and brings extensive experience in strategy and distribution to projects across banking, insurance, and asset management. He leads McKinsey Australia’s Financial Services Practice, working with banks in Asia, Australia, and North America. During his time at McKinsey Jonathan has worked in the New York and Australian offices.

As the financial services arena experiences tightening regulation, changing macro-economic conditions, and evolving customer behaviours, Jonathan works closely with leadership teams to develop and execute winning strategies. This has recently included transforming the sales practices and incentives of a large retail bank, designing and implementing an end-to-end digitisation program, and rolling out a customer experience transformation via behavioural change.

Jonathan is the partner sponsor of recruiting for McKinsey in Australia and New Zealand.
