Responsible for learning and development for 40,000+ colleagues globally in addition to overseeing McKinsey’s Way We Work team and McKinsey’s People Technology team

Heather is responsible for ensuring that firmwide learning and development serve as both a career accelerator for every colleague at McKinsey and a means of rapidly building the capabilities required to meet ever-evolving client demands.

Heather has held various roles within McKinsey’s people function, including leadership roles in talent acquisition, professional development, and learning. She built McKinsey’s talent function, designed the firm’s talent architecture, and developed the people model and infrastructure to support McKinsey’s client service expansion, including into implementation, transformation, and digital and analytics.

In recent years, Heather has been dedicated to leading efforts to transition the firm toward a skills-focused performance and development culture, including building a culture of apprenticeship and feedback, making skills and expertise more visible through credentialing, enhancing personal distinctiveness, and supporting colleagues in self-authoring their careers.

She also leads innovation efforts in our learning and development processes, leveraging digital tools, analytics, and generative AI. Additionally, Heather heads the Way We Work (WWW) team, which is dedicated to advancing the science of teamwork.

Heather initially joined McKinsey as a consultant, working on various operational topics such as manufacturing, supply chain, product development, and procurement.

Heather has also served on the Princeton Committee to Nominate Alumni Trustees, as Board Member for Ideastream Public Media, as Vice Chair of the Board of Directors for the Dos Pueblos Engineering Academy Foundation, and as a member of the Board of Directors for the Peabody Charter School.
