About Basel

Basel is a leader of McKinsey’s technology practice within the payor subsector in the Americas. He has worked primarily at the intersection of operations, technology, and healthcare, serving clients across the healthcare value chain on various topics, including large operations and technology transformations.

He has recently helped a payor design and implement a bold digital transformation to reduce administrative costs by $500 million while improving provider and customer experience. He has also led the IT post-merger integration of two leading healthcare payors, and transformed a large payor’s software development capability to move from a highly waterfall approach to an agile one, improving productivity by 15 to 20 percent.

Basel graduated from Pennsylvania State University as a part of the Schreyer honors program and earned his MBA from the University of Pennsylvania as a Palmer Scholar (top 5 percent—highest distinction).
