During the past decade, he has guided several prominent industry-shaping pharmacy transactions and created thought leadership in evolving areas such as next-generation ecosystems, the rise of retail health channels, health affordability, and operational resiliency. His portfolio of capabilities spans strategic planning, business- and operating-model design, various phases of the M&A lifecycle, transformation management, and operations execution.
Alok’s recent experience includes the following:
- architecting a large payer’s shift to insourcing their pharmacy business and entering a strategic partnership with a prominent PBM. The initiative captured approximately $4 billion in drug savings
- leading the launch of a new pharmacy entity and designing the future-state operating model, based on a multiyear growth plan and strategic flexibility
- advising a national payer on strategic planning and the migration of Medicare, Medicaid, and commercial membership for millions of people to captive PBM
- formulating the go-to-market and optimization strategies across product, sales, and business domains for an integrated health services entity
- leading a retail organization’s $1.9 billion divestiture of its pharmacy business to a leading PBM and delivering an innovative store-in-store retail pharmacy business model at scale
- developing value-based care strategies and provider alliance recommendations for a payer across more than five markets to reduce delivery system costs
