Jan is a leader of our Pharmaceutical & Medical Products Practice in Japan, and Asia more broadly, and advises global and domestic pharmaceutical and medical-device companies. He helps leadership teams across a broad range of topics, with a specific focus on portfolio strategy and commercial and medical capability building, including advanced analytics.

Examples of Jan’s previous work include the following:

  • helping a top global biopharma build up its business across Asia, including portfolio decisions, medical and commercial strategy, scaling up the organization and capability building, to accelerate the growth of its brands
  • supporting an iconic Japanese pharmaceutical company to globalize and accelerate its transformation across functions, including acceleration of multiple digital lighthouses across the business
  • helping multiple pharmaceutical and medical-device companies develop and implement market-entry and growth strategies in Japan and the rest of Asia, including deploying advanced analytics use-cases

Jan is a member of the executive leadership team of the Medical Affairs Professional Society in Asia. He supports multiple companies on their medical strategy and organization.

Born and raised in the Netherlands, where Jan also started his professional career, he later worked in the United Kingdom, and across Europe, and has been part of McKinsey Japan since 2014.
