Survey: Discretionary spending in China amid and after the COVID-19 pandemic

Chinese respondents share how their spending habits have changed since COVID-19 began, and how their behaviors could change once the crisis subsides.

We conducted research with nearly 900 survey respondents to better understand how COVID-19 has affected Chinese consumers’ attitudes toward discretionary spending, with specific analyses on mobile phones and large domestic appliances. These exhibits are based on survey data collected from April 28 through May 9, 2020.
