McKinsey’s Prague office has several application intake windows during the year. These application windows are linked to specific interviews dates:
You can download this table here. If you are in a situation where our suggested timelines do not work, please contact us on pr_recruit@mckinsey.com so we can discuss an alternative.
Please note that candidates from UK/US universities would need to follow UK/US application process. Kindly check details of the process on the relevant websites.
Eligible applicants will receive an invitation to play Solve, McKinsey’s assessment game, and complete it within a set deadline. There is no preparation needed for this game.
After the application deadline we will extensively review your application, including your Solve results.
If you are invited to interview, you will be provided with multiple coaching resources to make sure you are prepared.
An interview is an opportunity to find out whether McKinsey is the right choice for you. You will get an understanding of what our consultants do and the kinds of topics they work on.
Your first round will consist of two one-hour interviews for internship and for full-time positions. These interviews will all be with McKinsey consultants who will walk you through a case study to assess your team skills and ability to solve problems. These wide-ranging discussions will enable you to share your insight, your intellectual curiosity, and your approach to situations you may not have been prepared for. You will also have ample opportunity to ask questions about consulting and working at McKinsey.
After receiving feedback, and in the case of a successful outcome, you’ll be invited to attend a second round of interviews—two one-hour interview for internship positions and two one-hour interviews for full-time positions. If you are successful in final round interviews you’ll receive an offer.
We have created a comprehensive set of materials to support your interview preparation. You will find detailed information under “Interviewing”, including a video a tips for interviews.
You should select a suitable role based on your tenure and background. If you are unsure, feel free to contact us so we can advise you.
The Prague Office offers internships throughout the year. Students are eligible to apply for an internship at the end of their bachelor’s or master’s degree programs. Internships typically last 10–11 weeks. Internship timings are flexible, and we will mutually agree on a suitable start date with successful candidates.
Please follow the general application intake timeline when applying for an internship, as the recruiting process follows the same procedures. Interns have one fewer interview in each round than other candidates.
We look for interns who are enterprising and have strong analytical and leadership skills. As an intern, you will become familiar with McKinsey’s integrated approach to problem solving, teamwork, and client engagements. You will work with McKinsey experts from around the world, receive day-to-day coaching from your colleagues, and gain insight into the critical challenges that our clients face.
Please note that the Prague Office seeks candidates who have a strong preference to be based in Prague. In many cases, a successful internship leads to the opportunity to return to McKinsey after graduation. Individuals who have successfully completed an internship at our office may receive a full-time offer of employment. Any colleagues who accept this offer will be expected to work from Prague during the entire pre-Associate program before any potential relocation is considered.
We look for candidates with a bachelor’s degree in engineering, science, or another technical or related field. Having an advanced degree is advantageous. We require relevant work experience in an IT/technology environment and an excellent technical understanding of key areas such as digital strategy, transformation, engineering, IT infrastructure and architecture.
Visit our careers website and complete our online application form. You will need to attach an English version of your cover letter, curriculum vitae, and copies of academic transcripts (from high school onward). Czech/Slovak language skills are required.
