Our code of professional conduct

Our code of professional conduct defines a set of expectations for the behavior of all firm members. It serves as a guide to help colleagues understand the core elements of our policies and how those policies are anchored in our values. We expect all colleagues to comply with this code of professional conduct and we expect others working on our behalf, such as contractors, advisors, and other suppliers, to act in a manner that is consistent with our code.

As participants in the United Nations Global Compact, we support The Ten Principles on human rights, labor, environment and anti-corruption.

We also work in collaboration with others to advance the UN Sustainable Development Goals, like Generation, the youth employment nonprofit we founded, which we hope makes a contribution towards Goal 8: Promote inclusive and sustainable economic growth, employment and decent work for all.

As outlined in our Human Rights statement, we support the protection of internationally proclaimed human rights and employees’ rights of freedom of association and to take part in collective-bargaining processes. Beyond our own firm, we take seriously our commitment to assist organizations and grass-roots initiatives that promote human rights and tackle forced-labor and child-labor practices.

It is our expectation that all firm members are able to work in an environment free from harassment and discrimination.

As a firm, we take seriously our responsibility for the environmental sustainability  of our operations and our offices take steps to reduce our environmental footprint. We also serve private, public, and social sector clients across the world on steps they are taking to address climate change.

We have strict policies and professional standards that apply to every member of the firm. Any potential breach of these ethical standards is subject to comprehensive investigation, with appropriate action taken. We have clear internal procedures for firm members to report concerns about values, ethics and professional conduct. Additionally, our confidential and impartial Ombud program is available to help firm members with these and other issues, including managing interpersonal or inter-team conflicts or personal concerns.
