Yavuz is a senior expert in McKinsey’s Travel, Logistics & Infrastructure Practice with more than two decades of consulting experience and deep expertise in operations, transformation, and new business building. He advises postal services, third-party logistics (3PL) providers, investors, and large conglomerates on topics that include network design, operational efficiency, last-mile delivery, and new market entry.
In his business-building work, Yavuz played a central role in launching a national parcel delivery company in a European country, with a focus on the e-commerce segment. During the process, he acted as a shadow COO to help set up operations and build the full distribution network. He subsequently guided the company through a merger that positioned it among the top five logistics players in the country.
Yavuz also supports investment funds and regional logistics providers in the Middle East on multimodal transport strategies.
Recent examples of Yavuz’s client work include:
- creating a logistics investment strategy spanning all modes—road, rail, sea, and air—for a Middle Eastern investment fund
- preparing a five-year transformation and investment plan for a regional post and parcel operator, including a business case for a last-mile delivery marketplace
- developing growth strategies for a Turkish 3PL with trade flows into Western Europe
- structuring an asset-light operating model for a US-based intermodal logistics provider
- supporting a Turkish conglomerate in reducing logistics spend through a zero-based budgeting initiative
After 11 years at McKinsey, Yavuz left the firm to establish a boutique consultancy focused on operational improvement and transformation management. After a seven-year break, he rejoined McKinsey in 2020.
