About Tarek

Tarek has more than 25 years of experience serving CEOs, boards of directors, and public-sector leaders. He counsels executives on a range of strategic and organizational issues including technology, corporate strategy, and governance.

Tarek coleads the firm’s global Technology, Media, & Telecommunications Practice. Previously he was responsible for McKinsey’s acquisitions and helped establish an ecosystem of partners and alliances with the world’s leading technology companies. He has been based in our Chicago, Dubai, Jakarta, and Sydney offices, and has served clients on every continent.

Tarek is a member of McKinsey Global Institute’s council, which advises on its research on global economic, business, and technology trends. He is a regular speaker and panelist on the topics of technology, the future of work, gender parity and diversity in the workplace, and leadership development.

In his work outside of McKinsey, Tarek is a long-standing active board member of Interfaith Youth Core, the largest interfaith youth organization in North America. He is a trustee of Northwestern University and serves on the board of advisors for Kellogg School of Management.
