Syed is a leader in McKinsey’s Semiconductors Practice, where he serves clients across the semiconductor ecosystem, including Integrated Device Manufacturers (IDMs) and fabless, foundry, and equipment companies. Syed has extensive experience helping semiconductor companies on topics related to growth strategy, M&A, supply chain transformation, manufacturing strategy, and digital transformation.

Examples of Syed’s recent client service include the following:

  • developing the growth strategy for data center AI chips for a large fabless company
  • conducting due diligence for a large fabless company’s acquisition of IP and a custom silicon business
  • advising an IDM on a manufacturing digital transformation across multiple fabs globally

Syed is a member of the Board of Industry Leaders at the Consumer Technology Association (CTA). He frequently publishes and speaks at industry conferences on semiconductor topics.
