About Sarun

Sarun is a leader in McKinsey’s Healthcare Systems and Services Practice and its Center for Healthcare Innovation, focusing on healthcare-value programs that generate high-quality, affordable, and accessible care. He leads the firm's value-networks and contracting work and coleads McKinsey's opioids-insights work.

Sarun solves for the intersection of quality, outcomes, and cost, using clinically driven, big-data strategy and analytics. He leads several multidisciplinary teams of generalist consultants and data scientists to address healthcare and public-health challenges.

Through Sarun’s leadership of the firm’s value networks and contracting work, he helps clients create networks to connect patients with the highest-value providers, improve payer–provider relationships on a value-driven basis, and build capabilities to enable lasting improvements in network and provider performance.

Through leadership of McKinsey’s Opioids Insights, Sarun helps clients and society combat the opioid crisis by providing insights, expertise, analytics, and technology. He has counseled clients on broad opioid-response strategies and programs; developed clinically driven, advanced analytics to enable providers to improve the prevention and treatment of opioid-use disorder; and advised on technology and product innovation in the pain-management space.

Sarun has supported private and public payers, states, providers, and foundations in these efforts.
