Phil advises financial institutions and financial technology companies on transforming their technology, operations, data, and AI capabilities to drive productivity, boost growth, and improve customer experience. He has deep experience in banking, financial market infrastructure, payments, and insurance.

- shaping one of the most significant cloud and AI partnerships in Europe
- helping a major financial institution achieve 25 percent productivity improvements in their technology spend

- helping a global financial technology company identify productivity improvements across product, engineering, operations, and sales teams

In addition to his hands-on advisory work, Phil leads McKinsey’s work on technology operating models and productivity across Europe.
Before joining McKinsey, Phil was a doctoral research scientist at the University of Cambridge, spent time at Microsoft Research and MIT, and was lead engineer at a start-up. He holds a PhD in computer science from the University of Cambridge.
