Dr. Nico Raabe is a partner at McKinsey’s Berlin office and leads the McKinsey Center for Government in Europe. 

Since joining the firm in 2008, he has served public and private sector clients across the globe from various industries in addressing transformational challenges, including M&A. Besides the public and social sector, his focus industries are aerospace, automotive, and energy. Nico is furthermore an expert in effectively engaging all relevant stakeholder groups for a successful implementation of large-scale transformations, mergers, and carve-outs, particularly works councils and unions.

Prior to joining McKinsey, Nico spent eight years working part time as an advisor to a chief whip at Germany‘s federal parliament. His PhD focuses on the role of labor co-determination at German supervisory boards. He holds a master’s degree in business administration of Humboldt University, Berlin.

Nico is an active supporter of various not-profit organizations. He is a board member of the Founders’ Council of Berlin Cathedral, the Foundation of the German War Graves Commission as well as the German Orient Foundation. In 2011, he was created an Honorary Knight of the German branch of the Order of St. John of Jerusalem.
