Alex coleads our Private Equity & Principal Investors Practice globally, and heads the practice for the Americas, including the knowledge development on what it takes to grow and turnaround sponsor-owned companies.
The primary focus of Alex’s client work is on diligence and portfolio-company efforts for private-equity owners. He also serves private-equity firms on strategy, organization, operations, and investment-diligence initiatives. He has deep expertise in the industrial, aerospace and defense, retail, consumer packaged goods, food service, and operations areas.
Examples of Alex’s recent client work include leading a portfolio company transformation focused on design-to-value and sourcing―which delivered over $150 million in EBITDA improvement. He also supported a leading distressed-focused firm with diligence and investment decisions across a range of sectors. For a portfolio company, he developed a sales and growth strategy that resulted in a doubling of sales and significantly improved returns.
Prior to joining McKinsey, Alex spent six years working for a global computer and digital equipment company in a number of financial and operational roles, with international assignments in Singapore, Thailand, and Vietnam.
