Helps large organizations in the public and social sector transform their impact to improve outcomes for people across the Middle East and beyond

Stephen is part of our Public & Social Sector Practice in the Middle East region, with a focus on serving clients in Pakistan. He has worked in many countries across the region in addition to supporting teams serving clients around the world. His experience includes multiple large-scale transformations in public and social sector programs, with sector expertise in education, public health, poverty alleviation, and economic development.

In particular, Stephen is one of the core leaders of our education work in the broader Middle East and Africa region. His clients include governments, foundations, and education institutions in multiple countries, on topics from early childhood education to the future of universities. He has also helped shape our recent thinking on how education systems can respond to and emerge from the challenges posed by COVID-19.

Stephen coordinates McKinsey’s social impact work in the Middle East, with a focus on the firm’s work with refugees, and more broadly in the education sector. Outside of the firm, he serves on the boards of two organizations working on education and training for refugee children and other disadvantaged groups in Lebanon.
