A leader of McKinsey’s Global Advanced Industries Practice, Masahiro primarily advises Japan-based manufacturing clients. He is also a leader of the firm’s automotive sector in Asia.
Masahiro leverages his 30 years of McKinsey consulting experience to serve clients on an array of topics, including growth-strategy design, new-business development, organizational transformation, purchasing and development, and supply-chain operational improvement.
His recent activities cover numerous advisory roles for global companies headquartered in Japan, such as counselling a Japanese manufacturer on driving global growth strategy, designing and supporting new-business planning for emerging markets, reducing overseas procurement costs, enhancing subsidiary governance, and improving organizational health.
Masahiro has also leverages his travel and transportation and supply-chain knowledge across industries to support emerging-market governmental organizations improve transit-system business performance and reduce cost, and to guide Japanese companies in transforming their global supply chains.
