As McKinsey’s chief diversity, equity, and inclusion officer, I am passionate about our efforts to advance gender equality at our firm – and in society more broadly – and excited to share information with you about McKinsey Women.
From research, we know that diverse teams solve tough problems better—and solving clients’ toughest problems is the business that we are in. So to ensure that we are fully capturing the benefits of gender and broader diversity, we want to create an environment where the world’s most talented women and men want to work. Beyond connectivity and community building, our programs include best-in-class leadership development, flexibility, parental leave, and inclusive leadership, all of which contribute to an environment where women and men experience the sponsorship they need to grow. Our program helping new parents ramp back on following leave was recognized globally by the World Economic Forum.

These programs are global in reach. From our strong group of women senior partners to a dynamic new generation of women business analysts, there are so many McKinsey women helping shape the firm of the future. We were thrilled this past year to celebrate full gender parity across consultants globally!
As a firm, McKinsey has also led ground-breaking research on women around the world and invested over $100 million in the last decade on research on women in business and women more broadly in the world. In terms of women’s role in the world, we have published The Power of Parity, linking the role of women in society to their role in the workplace, and the ability to drive up to $12 billion in global GDP through better gender equality in the workforce. In terms of women’s leadership in companies, we have led Women in the Workplace for over a decade in partnership with LeanIn.org. The annual report is the broadest and deepest benchmarking of its kind and assesses the full talent pipeline and talent pinchpoints across North America by industry.
We look forward to welcoming you to our McKinsey Women community!
