    Senior Partner, New Jersey

The McKinsey Black Network was founded in 1991 and now comprises hundreds of colleagues from dozens of offices. Our mission is to make McKinsey the top employer for exceptional Black talent across the globe. We do this by creating a caring, supportive environment that allows our members to be their best selves every day.

Strong, supportive connections are the core component of our culture, and we focus on providing opportunities for our network members to build lasting friendships and mentor relationships. Highlights for some colleagues include special learning and development programs and connectivity events like our two-day McKinsey Black Network conference.

  • As a firm, we invest heavily in research on the business and economic case for diversity, including numerous reports specific to the Black community, including COVID-19: Investing in Black lives and livelihoods, The case for accelerating financial inclusion in Black communities, and The economic impact of closing the racial wealth gap. We also support the development of senior Black business leaders through our Executive Masterclasses and we were a founding partner of the Black Economic Forum.

We support many organizations that promote diversity and inclusion, and our partnerships with Historically Black Colleges and Universities in the US support our recruitment of top diverse talent at institutions that directly impact the Black community.

McKinsey also recently pledged to take 10 actions to address racial inequality, including engaging our 32,000 colleagues in an anti-racism and inclusion program and donating $5 million in cash this year to nonprofits working to create educational opportunities and combat racism—and the majority of this gift will be directed to organizations selected by our McKinsey Black Network colleagues.

I encourage you to explore the McKinsey Black Network site if you would like to learn more. My involvement in our diversity and inclusion initiatives has been one of the most meaningful aspects of my career here, and I trust that you will feel the same way if you join our firm.
