Brendan, a partner in McKinsey’s New York office, leads our Engineering, Construction & Building Materials Practice for North America. His passion lies in unlocking the industry’s potential for a more equitable, sustainable, and livable built environment. Brendan collaborates closely with clients to drive innovation through the adoption of new techniques and technologies, decarbonization efforts, and the enhancement of productivity at scale.

Brendan has deep experience across the construction value chain, and collaborates with engineers, contractors, building products manufacturers, distributors, and homebuilders. His expertise spans strategy, M&A, growth, and comprehensive performance transformation.

Brendan is also a pivotal member of McKinsey’s Private Equity & Principal Investors Practice, guiding investors seeking to acquire companies in the construction sector and beyond.

Some recent examples of his work include:

  • helping lead a comprehensive performance transformation for a residential building products company, driving bottom-line impact across new product launches and scale-up, pricing improvement, sales effectiveness, procurement, and lean manufacturing
  • contributing to the growth strategy for a leading equipment rental company, collaborating to enhance their ability to outperform the market
