Senior PartnerBay Area

Brings expertise in digital transformations and helps organizations become more agile with technology; has extensive domain expertise in the Internet of Things, cloud technology, and security

Naveen advises senior leaders in high-tech and information-technology companies across a range of industries, helping them rapidly and successfully adapt to digital transformation. He cofounded and helps lead two special initiatives at McKinsey that focus on technology innovation. The first is our enterprise-cloud initiative, which seeks to help chief information officers make better use of cloud computing technology—setting effective strategic approaches and defining effective operating models. The second is McKinsey’s Internet of Things (IOT) initiative, which is helping clients use sensor data to optimize products, services, and operations. Naveen takes a stack and market view when advising organizations how to adopt and participate in IOT via offerings, consortia, and technologies.

Examples of his work include:

  • developing a cloud-and-data strategy for a large financial-transactions company, saving $500 million
  • driving major IT transformation to increase agility, workforce satisfaction, and throughput of projects, while saving more than $350 million
  • designing an IOT market-entry strategy and acquisition pipeline for a major semiconductor company

Naveen holds an advanced degree in computer science from the University of California, Berkeley, where he focused his studies on computer security in IOT and voting machines. His research was integral to improvements made in the IEEE standards for personal-area networks and strengthening the data security of the voting machines used by the state of California. He was previously the data and systems architect for a bond-trading platform used by major investment banks and hedge funds.
